Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Operating Rooms: Ensure that all instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile and ready for surgery.
- Assist During Procedures: Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons, maintain a sterile field, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
- Sterilization and Maintenance: Clean and sterilize equipment and ensure adherence to infection control protocols.
- Patient Care: Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patients’ safety and comfort before, during, and after surgery.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain surgical equipment, supplies, and inventory.
- Documentation: Accurately document procedures, materials used, and any observations during surgery.
- Emergency Support: Be ready to jump into action during high-pressure situations to ensure smooth surgical operations.
Qualifications:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST): Current certification required.
- Experience in Surgical Settings: Previous experience in an OR is a must; familiarity with different types of surgeries is a bonus.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support certification required (no superhero training needed).
- Attention to Detail: Precision and focus are critical in this role—your expertise keeps the team on point.
- Team Player: A collaborative spirit is essential in the OR.
