Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist (Surgical Tech) to join our team in San Luis Obispo, CA for a 13-week contract. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in the operating room, assisting in surgical procedures and ensuring a sterile environment. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and ensuring a sterile field.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond quickly to requests.
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis as needed.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate surgical documentation and inventory management.
Requirements:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred but not required.
- Minimum 2 years of surgical tech experience in an operating room setting.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and instrument handling.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.
