Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Prep: Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile drapes. Your attention to detail ensures a smooth procedure.
- Assist the Surgical Team: Hand instruments to surgeons, anticipate their needs, and maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure.
- Patient Care: Help position patients for surgery and ensure their safety and comfort during procedures.
- Instrument Sterilization: Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment post-operation, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
- Monitor Equipment: Ensure surgical equipment functions correctly and troubleshoot any issues that arise during procedures.
- Collaborate: Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other OR staff to ensure the best patient outcomes.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of procedures, instruments used, and any irregularities during surgery.
- Emergency Readiness: Stay prepared to assist in emergency surgical situations with efficiency and composure.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification or equivalent.
- Experience: Previous experience in an OR setting preferred, but we welcome skilled learners who are eager to excel.
- Skills: Detail-oriented, a team player, and calm under pressure (even when the OR gets intense!).
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support certification is required.
