We are hiring an experienced Addiction Counselor to join our team at Sandy Pines, a 149-bed Residential Psychiatric Facility serving children and adolescents aged 5-17 in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida.
Job Summary:
A certified substance abuse counselor is a qualified clinician responsible for providing counseling services to clients recovering from addiction to substance, drugs or alcohol. The Addictions Counselor is responsible for the overall design and implementation of the facility's substance abuse services program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat patients' mental and physical health
- Provide support to addicts
- Counsel patients sessions as appropriate
- Create and modify individualized treatment strategies
- Mediate and advocate for patients in emergency situations
- Assess patients' substance dependency status continually
Requirements:
- Masters' degree in counseling or a related field
- State licensing or certification
- Experience in individual and group counseling
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
