Job Summary: The Associate Actuary is responsible for assisting the CFO and Director of Actuarial Services to support bid development, IBNR reserving, claims analytics, medical trend and seasonality analysis for our Medicare Advantage business. The Associate Actuary will effectively and collaboratively communicate results to internal and external parties to help understand risks and opportunities for the business. This role will also assist in forecast modeling and evaluation throughout the year. The role will be hands on in data and modelling efforts on a regular basis and should have a strong background in data pulling (SQL), data manipulation, and model and report building. This person will be able to own large actuarial processes and help guide leadership and the business using their expertise.

Qualifications
Qualification and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
- ASA and MAAA attained
- 3-5 years' experience in healthcare with emphasis using SQL and Excel/VBA to pull and manipulate claims data
- Experience with Medicare Advantage bid development, IBNR reserving and/or other Healthcare actuarial functions
- Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and written
- Strong motivation to dive into data and details across the organization, eagerness to learn, and willingness to welcome challenges and find innovative solutions
- Must have ability and flexibility to travel approximately 5-10% of the time to Reno market.
