Your position goals and objectives include:
- Supporting the medical records department through a variety of clerical, technical and related support services.
- Coding discharged patients' accounts.
- Prepare the patient chart for discharge process and assemble components in the correct order.
- Assigns and abstracts medical and consultant data.
Qualifications
Your qualifications and experience will include:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent REQUIRED
Experience: Two years' of experience as a coder with Medical Records preferred
Licensure/Certification: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCA (Certified Coding Associate), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) REQUIRED. RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) or RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) preferred.
Other: Must be at least 21 years of age or older and able to pass a background check and drug screen
Knowledge: Health Information Management systems and operations. Computer literate; skill sets to work in a fast-paced environment.
