Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (VBPC) is a 100-bed freestanding psychiatric hospital located near the beautiful resort area of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a short 10-minute drive to the ocean front. VBPC offers acute psychiatric and substance abuse services for adults 18 years and older. The hospital is accessible 24 hours a day for admissions, and includes mental health assessments and an excellent referral network. Treatment programs and specialty services at VBPC include substance abuse, dual diagnosis and partial hospitalization.

Qualifications
Provides assessment, nursing care and evaluation of nursing care. Ensures consistent use of the nursing process in providing quality care. Interacts with patients, patient families, clinical team, and community resources establishing relationships and providing positive customer service. Provides evidence-bases care. Coordinates and delegates direct care, planning, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions for designated shift. Ensures consistent use of psychiatric nursing process in providing quality care. ** This role will focus primarily on the admissions and at times the discharge processes to facilitate efficient and effective patient throughput. Any and all standards, processes and duties related to bedside nursing will still apply to this role. The primary focus will be admissions, with an understanding that staffing and filling in to assist in other roles may occur when discharges / admissions are not occurring.
- Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program with licensure and registration by the Virginia Board of Nurse Examiners as a Registered Nurse.
- One year prior adult psychiatric and chemical dependency experience preferred.
- Must possess knowledge of basic psychiatric nursing procedures working with a general population including adults and chemically dependent individuals.
