POSITION SUMMARY:

Sr. Accountant key responsibilities include but not limited to: accurately process payroll, accounts payable, cash processing and general ledger posting.

Essential Job Duties

Process bi-weekly payroll, audits attendance system reports and ensures accuracy. Codes invoices, assigns account numbers, calculates tax. Keys invoices into computer and runs entry proofs to verify entry accuracy. Makes necessary changes in AP system. Physically reviews all invoices, seperates and matches checks to remit adnices. Prepares for mailing, processes any manual checks and voids as directed by CFO. Deposit checks, process cash sheets and dat-entry of patient accounting adjustments as requested.

Process journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and resolves discrepancies.Processes FTE report.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

• Must be proficient in Windows Applications or related software applications, and 10-key by touch.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles in order to properly code invoices.

EDUCATION:

Required: 2-5 years experience in accounting, finance, or related field.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree w/ 2 years experience or eqivalent experience in accounting , finance or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• One or more years in accounting or work related field.
• 10 key by touch
• Knowledge of computerized AP and GL systems

Preferred:

• Two or more experience in acoounting
• Knowledge of KRONOS / MCKESSON / LAWSON or similar accounting systems.
• Knowledge and working experience with spreadsheet and word processing software.
