What are the responsibilities and job description for the Endocrinology Physician position at Universal Health Services (UHS)?
Cumberland Hospital, located in New Kent, Virginia, is seeking a Board-Certified Pediatric Endocrinologist to provide PRN services as part of our multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will work remotely, with the possibility of on-site visits when needed.
The Physician will be responsible for reviewing and overseeing blood glucose management plans for patients with diabetes mellitus (types 1 and 2), as well as initial consults for patients admitted with diagnoses such as thyroid disease, growth hormone deficiency, and other conditions. This will include Turner Syndrome, cystic fibrosis-related diabetes, and inborn errors of metabolism.
Primarily, the physician will review blood glucoses and diabetes treatment plans for children aged 5-18 years old, working alongside a primary medical team consisting of Board-Certified pediatricians and nurse practitioners. The hospital also employs registered dietitians who meet regularly with patients and interface with the multidisciplinary team.
The ideal candidate would be interested in participating in the diabetes teaching curriculum, including patient education groups.

The Endocrinologist Physician position is a PRN role with a flexible schedule, offering patient care in acute care, inpatient, and residential treatment programs.
