Key Responsibilities :

Personal hygiene

CNAs in LTC facilities work closely with the nursing staff and must follow their instructions and care plans.

CNAs need to be patient, compassionate, and have good physical stamina to perform the required tasks.

Depending on state regulations and facility policies, CNAs may have additional responsibilities like administering medications or providing specialized care for certain conditions.

Assisting residents with bathing, showering, oral hygiene, hair care, and nail care.

Changing incontinence briefs and maintaining skin integrity.

Mobility assistance :

Helping residents transfer in and out of bed, chairs, and wheelchairs.

Walking with residents using appropriate assistive devices.

Performing range-of-motion exercises as instructed.

Nutrition support :

Assisting residents with meal preparation and feeding.

Monitoring food intake and reporting any concerns.

Toileting assistance :

Assisting residents with using the bathroom, including toileting and bedpan usage.

Vital signs monitoring :

Taking and recording vital signs like temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respirations.

Observation and reporting :

Reporting any changes in resident's condition, including physical, mental, or behavioral changes to the nurse.

Monitoring for signs of pain, discomfort, or potential complications.

Basic care tasks :

Changing linens and maintaining a clean resident environment

Assisting with dressing and grooming

Communication and documentation :

Communicating effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare team members

Documenting all care provided accurately in the resident's medical record

Safety and infection control :

Following proper infection control practices to prevent the spread of germs

Ensuring resident safety by using proper lifting techniques and fall prevention strategies

Qualifications :

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in Hawaii (don't leave home without it!).

Hospital experience is a plus, but we're happy to train enthusiastic CNAs who love to learn.

Excellent communication skills-extra points if you can throw in a great dad joke!

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (but don't worry, no capes required).

Expected hours : 40 per week (with coffee breaks, snack breaks, and, well, more breaks!)
