Full Job Description
Position Title:
Per Diem Homecare Nurse
Organizational Relationship:
The position of per diem Nurse reports to the DON and Administrator.
Position Scope:
- Evaluating client's current functional status
- Create plan of care based on needs of client
- Perform home safety evaluation
- Conduct follow-up evaluations and supervisory visits on aides
Position Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required
- A licensed RN in good standing, holding a current/appropriate license/registration in the state of New Jersey
- A valid driver's license
- A valid auto insurance policy with liability coverage
Experience:
- One year of professional experience as a Registered Nurse
- Experience in home care nursing preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Able to effectively communicate with clients and co-workers in English
- Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing
- Ability to deal effectively with stress
Performance Responsibilities:
- Maintains standards of homecare and implements the policies and procedures established by the agency
- Competently assess and documents the clients biophysical, psychosocial, and educational needs
- Interprets to the client and family the implications of the client's health status
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with other members of the health care team and staff of the agency
- Consistently adheres to universal precautions, aseptic technique, and infection control guidelines
- Consistently implements care in a manner that is safe for the client, his/her family, and self
- Consistently assumes and follows through on the responsibilities of the assignment
- Maintains confidentiality of client assessments and records
- Demonstrates sound judgment and clinical knowledge in planning and decision making
- Consistently demonstrates professionalism through appearance, performance, and communication
- Respects the rights, privacy, and property of others at all times
