Responsibilities
- Develop/ update comprehensive, safety and environment programs.
- Oversee industrial hygiene program to address chemical, physical, biological and ergonomic stressors
- Inspect work site: document inspections: Communicate with mangers to make aware of safety gaps and areas of concern and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Create statistical incident and claims reports for management review of performance
- Investigate incidents, ensure they are documented and reported to our carrier, OSHA and ownership as necessary.
- Manage claims including workers compensation, auto, property damage
- Primary contact for occupational medicine facilities. Maintain working relationships with care facilities/physicians to reduce impact for OSHA,UOSH,USDOT,UDOT,DEG,DAG, Lindon City, Orem City, Utah County Sherriff’s office, Lindon Police, Orem fire and other government agencies as needed.
- Be a resource and support for managers in their efforts to control hazards in the workplace.
- Conduct monthly safety committee meeting
- Maintain OSHA logs
- Support managers in development of JHA’s and SOP’s
- Order and track personal protective equipment life span: recommend/test for improvements
- Travel to Affinity risk Control workshops twice per year
- Training and record keeping of Crane, Forklift, Confined, fall protection, Hearing conservation etc...
- New employee safety training.

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration and/ or safety field related
- 5-7 years of experience in safety steel and or industrial manufacturing environment preferred
- Leadership and motivational skills in working with management team in understanding and instigating safe work practices and
- Maintains professional composure and personal productivity in a high stress environment.
- Self-motivated, goal orientated and self-directed.
- Knowledge of operating a PC computer, Good working knowledge and computer skill in SM Suite Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Understands safety needs and concerns and has a working knowledge and experience in a manufacturing and the industrial workplace.
- Understands Safety and environmental regulations, standards and practices and shares expertise to ensure company and employee compliance.
- Develops and updates a comprehensive safety, health and environmental programs.
