Universal Industries, Inc., an established manufacture of bulk material handling equipment, has an immediate Full-time opening for an IT Specialist. This role will be responsible for maintaining reliability and functionality of in-house computer hardware and software.
Qualifications:
- Associates' Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner
- Knowledge of SolidWorks preferred
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and practices preferred
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Responsibilities:
- Oversees installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Provides training to staff on various technical subjects.
- Stays abreast of emerging technology to support future company needs. Validates new technologies proposed for use.
- Schedules, and performs all system equipment, hardware and software upgrades including security patches, operating system updates, application updates, and performance tuning.
- Responsible for network security, including user accounts, permissions and access rights, firewalls, anti-virus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of applicable network and software installations.
- Maintains a database/library of all supporting documentation for hardware and software.
- Ensures IT project timelines and budgets are met.
