The Deburring Technician is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from machined components to ensure parts meet precise quality and safety standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deburring and Finishing:
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from machined components using hand tools (e.g., files, scrapers, sandpaper), power tools (e.g., grinders, rotary tools), or automated deburring equipment.
- Smooth and sand surfaces to meet specified tolerances and aesthetic standards.
Inspection and Quality Control:
- Examine machined components for defects, burrs, or irregularities before and after deburring using magnifying tools, gauges, or visual inspection.
- Ensure finished parts comply with technical drawing and blueprints.
Workspace Management:
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of debris for cleanliness.
- Properly handle and store parts to prevent damage or contamination.
Material Handling:
- Handle components with care to avoid scratches, dents, or other damage during the deburring process.
- Identify and segregate non-conforming parts for rework or scrap as needed
Auxiliary Responsibilities:
- Assist in production assembly of machined components
- Operate secondary equipment such as saws, tumblers and ultrasonic cleaners
Education Requirements and experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience in deburring, machining, or metal finishing
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., files, sanders, scrapers) and power tools (e.g., grinders, Dremel tools)
- Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, or work instructions.
- Dexterity and hand-eye coordination for detailed work.
- Ability to lift and maneuver parts (up to 50 lbs.)
- Stand for extended periods and handle repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Follow safety protocols and shop procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
