How We LEAD
The Coordinator, NA Royalty at UMPG is positioned to contribute and learn as part of a world class royalty team whose key goal is to ensure fast and accurate royalty accounting to songwriters. Reporting to the Director, NA Royalty, the Coordinator role encompasses royalty statement review, royalty income assurance, and support during quarterly royalty accounting closes. The position is rich in opportunity for involvement with the company’s biggest deals, signings, and international projects.
How You’ll CREATE
- Maintain a strong knowledge base and ownership of income sources including payment schedule, file layout details, and a strong relationship with income source contacts.
- Contribute to royalty statement processing for UMPG’s Global royalty operations, learning the nuances of income sources and supporting the global administration team.
- Maintain strong relationships with counterparts in Global Royalty, NA Copyright, Analytics, I.T., Royalty Audit, and Finance teams among others.
- Partner with the NA Analytics team to strengthen the territory’s ownership and understanding of all territory data in processing and reporting, to clients both external and internal.
- Execute the timely due diligence and review of all suspense data, seeking to maximize songwriter payout.
- Employ critical thinking in the review of data and analytics to ensure accurate royalty processing.
- Act as a self-starter in proactively finding solutions and assisting the team.
- Learn and develop ownership in assigned projects as part of the core area of concentration.
- Bring a fresh perspective, seeking to deconstruct and rebuild processes to create efficiencies and improvements.
- Perform ad hoc reporting and royalty team projects as needed.
- 1 year of work experience or prior internship experience in the administration of music rights, Business Management for Artists, Accounting, or Financial Planning & Analysis strongly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Experience in Microsoft Excel and text editors required.
- Ability to work in a bespoke systems landscape required.
- Strong organization skills, critical thinking, analytical abilities, and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately while managing competing priorities is required.
- 4 year degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Music Business strongly preferred.
- The ability to partner and work well as part of a team is required.
- Overtime as required.
