What are the responsibilities and job description for the Universal Music Group 2025 Summer Internship Program: Virgin Music Group (Onsite: CA) position at Universal Music Group?

Physical / Catalog (Onsite: CA)
We have a very active physical department and roster - you will work alongside the global physical team (catalog and new) learning the ins and outs of the physical business, the holes we need filled and the potential progress we can make with new processes implemented. You will also work alongside the head of global catalog who will be looking to launch a new approach to the digital catalog strategy in the coming months.
How You'll Create:
Work with the physical team to alleviate some of the workload that needs more attention and organization. Participate in team meetings and planning. Keep on task for certain physical releases to supplement the rollout plans. Work alongside the team to set goals and objectives for certain projects. Collaborate on potential catalog focuses for 2025 doing data (streaming and revenue) deep dives.

Video & UGC Strategy (Onsite: CA)
The mission is to optimize distribution, engagement, claiming, revenue and visibility across all forms of Video & UGC related content, by way of in-house products & services, partner outlets, and 3rd party solutions.
Supported by technology, updated workflows, protocols, and reporting, teams will be able to execute daily tasks and support client relations more efficiently & effectively while expanding oversight & service into new areas of the video and UGC space.
How You'll Create:
Multiple responsibilities and projects will be available across the video and UGC landscape.
On YouTube specifically, helping to better instate our rights management capabilities such as dispute resolutions, reference overlaps, and copyright issues. Having a good understanding of the rights admin space is essential to upholding best practices across the organization. Educating creators, users, and our marketing teams will be important as well. Reporting and analytics so our partners are receiving best in class data and actionable suggestions for rollout strategies.
There will also be projects aligned with identifying opportunities across the UGC marketplace on both established and emerging platforms.

The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. All candidates are encouraged to apply.
Program Eligibility:
- Currently enrolled at an accredited two or four-year college/university in the United States, pursing an undergraduate, graduate and/or law degree
- Graduating between Spring 2025 - Fall 2027
- Have access to housing and transportation within the designated city (We do not offer housing accommodations)
- Legally authorized to work in the United States and will not require sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the future (e.g., H1-B, OPT, etc.)
- Commit to 20 - 40 hours per week (based on individual business area)
