JOB SUMMARY: Creates and iterates compelling creative graphic design for advertising content across every possible medium—from print to digital to broadcast and beyond. Works under the direction of Creative Directors and alongside Art Directors, Copywriters and Producers. Brings a passion for visual design, an eye for detail, a curious mind and an ever-growing talent to maintain and enhance Universal’s visual voice for projects of every size. Intuitively understands the elements of design and embraces the potential of great design for all their projects. Teams with others to craft creative work that is consistent with Universal Parks & Resorts’ (UPR) design quality and brand standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creates Compelling Creative/Graphic Design/Art:
- Develops stellar creative, graphic design, visual communication and typography layouts for brand campaigns and projects.
- Creates designs that are consistent with UPR design quality and brand standards.
- Production-minded; able to produce volumes of great work with quality and accuracy.
Teamwork/Collaboration:
- Ideates with Art Directors & Copywriters to develop creative concepts and executions of assigned campaigns and projects.
- Completes projects on time and on budget.
- Works directly with leadership to manage workload balance.
- Maintains effective relationships with other team members and promotes a collaborative work environment.
Maintains Solid Understanding of UPR Core Business, Brand Portfolio, Brand Standards and Target Audiences:
- Always applies the best and most current practices for all Brand and Partner design standards.
- Stays refreshed and engaged with the latest and best design trends in advertising and pop culture.
Presentation Skills:
- Ability to present ideas along with Creative Team peers to partners across the organization.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION: Strong experience with visual communication design combined with an outstanding creative portfolio. Bachelor’s Degree (in Graphic Design or a closely related field) or the equivalent combination of education and work experience is needed.
EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years’ experience in graphic design field, advertising agency, in-house agency or marketing environment. Note Graphic Design also called Visual Communication Design (VCD).
- Experience with a wide array of media including digital, print, broadcast, online, outdoor and events/displays.
- Experience in like industry (travel, tourism, entertainment) and with like targets/demographics (teens/tweens, vacationers, Floridians, Hispanics) a plus
- Understanding of design applications including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Keynote/PowerPoint.
- Understanding of printing process, photography, digital design, illustration, and typography.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
