Responsible for serving as a Universal Orlando corporate representative in the community; works closely with department leadership on the development and implementation of annual strategic plan; manages UOF and UO CR representatives; oversee corporate’s monthly charitable donation process.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for serving as a Universal Orlando corporate representative in the community; works closely with department leadership on the development and implementation of annual strategic plan; manages UOF and UO CR representatives; oversee corporate’s monthly charitable donation process.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for developing strategy for several aspects of the UO Foundation including fundraising efforts and Issue Focused Fund grants program; serve as external spokesperson for the Foundation and represent the organization at local high profile events
- Responsible for all aspects of organizing, managing and selling major fund raising activities such as the annual Charity Classic event and auction, which generate foundation funds and in-kind contributions.
- Represents Universal Orlando Foundation and UO Community Relations in the community and enhances external relationships. Serves as Universal Orlando Foundation spokesperson at internal and external presentations.
- Assist in development and implementation of the company’s annual community relations strategic plan and initiatives; oversee monthly corporate in-kind donation process and compassion program.
- Facilitates grant application process, including assessment and evaluation of each grant application for General and Issue Focused Funds; leads quarterly Review Committee meetings.
- Responsible for ensuring all Foundation activities are IRS compliant; activities include annual state solicitation registrations, FMV determination and correspondence, and year end reporting; manages organization’s daily financials; oversees budget, invoicing and collections.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Public Relations or Communications is required
- 10 years community relations’ experience is required with an emphasis on charitable giving/non-profit organizations preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent communication skills – verbal, written, presentation
- Strong collaboration skills, ability to lead efforts of others without direct reporting relationship
- Thorough understanding of corporate foundation IRS compliance activities
- Strong budget management skills
- Excellent fundraising skills including the ability to secure in kind and cash donations
