Tech IV, Show Operator - Universal Epic Universe

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides the technical skills needed to support the daily operation of the assigned entertainment venue and/or event, including the operation and execution of entertainment shows.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for the daily operation of the technical elements within the assigned entertainment venue and/or event.
• Responsible for completing pre and post show presets, resets and checklists of assigned technical equipment elements.
• Assist with the appropriate maintenance of venue and equipment as assigned for proper operation, organization and cleanliness.
• Assisting in maintaining shows or event specific inventory of all technical equipment and supplies.
• Accountable to strictly adhere to all policies and procedures, as defined by the Entertainment Department, governing the safe operation of all technical equipment.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
  
  

EDUCATION:

• High school degree is required
• Technical school is preferred.
  
  

EXPERIENCE:

• 1-3 years: One to three years’ experience within the professional theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REASONING ABILITY

• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  
  

VISION

The following visual abilities are all required:

• Clear vision at 20 inches or less
• Clear distance vision at 20 feet or more
• Accurate color vision (the ability to identify and distinguish colors)
• Excellent peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
• Accurate depth perception (three-dimensional ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
• Ability to adjust one’s focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)
  
  

Language Skills

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
