What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mixer position at Universal Photonics, Inc.?
JH Rhodes Company, a polishing pad manufacturer with over 120 years of polishing expertise. We are committed to supporting the leading-edge capabilities of our customers. We are seeking to fill a Mixer I position to our growing team. The successful candidates will learn the procedure to make specified batches, or “cakes” as they are referred to, according to the mix schedule for that day and then prepare for the following day’s production.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To be able to perform this function successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Prepare raw materials on the mix schedule for the following day according to set formulations for that product
- Mix raw materials together according to work instructions, established formulas and procedures
- Maintain mixing room cleanliness
- Communicate with management regarding the outcome of the production
- Maintain raw material inventory
- Cross-train in other areas of the factory and to provide support where needed
- Other tasks as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform the essential duties of this position.
- Minimum of high school level of knowledge of several subjects in order to express complex thoughts clearly in writing, perform algebraic and geometric calculations, and keep complex records
- Ability to deal effectively with other people
- Six to twelve months of previous work experience
- Some analytical ability is required in order to gather and interpret data in situations where the problems are somewhat complex
- Ability to drive and operate fork lift
- Basic computer knowledge
- Excellent attendance a must
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

This work produces a high level of mental/visual fatigue 50-80% of work time. Mental demands include, but are not limited to: reading, detailed work, confidentiality, problem solving, verbal communication, written communication, constant interruptions, math, and stress.

Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
