Responsibilities of a Process Development Engineer
Develop and optimize injection molding processes for new and existing products.
Establish and document process parameters to achieve consistent part quality and production efficiency.
Collaborate with Tooling Engineers to design, modify, and validate new and existing injection molds.
Collaborate with Quality on new part check-ins to meet criteria of print cosmetics.
Specify and procure injection molding machinery and auxiliary equipment
Work with Project Engineers to ensure manufacturability of plastic components during mold design and quotation.
Process troubleshooting of various types of injection molds, machines and resins to ensure efficient production of quality products.
Troubleshoot molding process issues (flash, short-shots, sinks, splay, etc.) for maximum efficiency and minimum scrap levels; Update process detail books as required.
Maintains a clean and orderly workstation.
Observes all safety regulations and practices.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager.
Stands, walks and uses hands for 8 to 10 hours per day
Candidate Requirements:
Plastics Engineering Degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and application of injection molding principles.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skill.
Ability to work well under minimal supervision; possess strong self-motivational skills.
Excellent decision-making skills to ensure we meet production demands.
Must be effective and efficient while performing all tasks to ensure production needs are met.
Possess a flexible mindset as jobs and tasks change quickly.
Ability to handle up to 50-pounds.
Detail oriented.
Salary : $85,000 - $110,000
