Join our team at Universal Speech Therapy, Inc. as a Special Education Teacher in Clackamas, OR 97086. We are seeking a dedicated individual who is passionate about providing high-quality special education services to an 18 year old student. This position is a full time positioin (30-40 hours per week) starting now and through the end of the school year 2024-2025.
Job Responsibilities :
- Provide instruction and a high level of support to an 18 year old student with Autism presenting with a complex set of needs
- Life skills training
- Provide individualized behavior support given a Behavioral Intervention Plan in place to address challenging behaviors
- Training on use of augmentative or alternative communication methods (AAC)
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents
- Qualifications :
- Experience with Autism
- Knowledge of AAC
- Familiarity with Oregon educational standards
- Ability to interact positively with staff, parents and administrators
- Understanding and use of strategies to manage challenging behaviors
- Understanding and implementation of instructional strategies
- Use of differentiated instruction
- Common Core State Standards
