Primary function
Perform electrical maintenance repair work throughout the mill.
Basic Responsibilities
Maintain and replace motor bearings.
Maintain control panels, switches and wiring.
Maintain, inspects and repair all breakers.
Inspect transformers.
Perform general electrical maintenance on assigned area.
Operate overhead crane and/or fork truck to move electrical supplies or equipment.
Interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Perform electromechanical rebuilds of plant production equipment.
Assist in installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment.
Maintain a safe and clean work area.
Reports to:
Generally, works independently and not closely supervised.
Position reports to Maintenance Supervisor.
Tools and Equipment
All types of electrical repair tools, wrenches, sledges, volt meters, rope and rope blocks, soldering torches, jacks, armature testing equipment, magnetos, pliers, screw drivers, and miscellaneous hand tools.
Skills
Ability to interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Tac-welding skills
Analytical ability
Experience
Previous electrical experience in industrial/manufacturing environment.
Education/Training
Must have a two (2) year post high school education (2 yr. Vocational Technical School)
Successfully receive a passing score on the Ramsey RR47-A test or equivalent and applicable test stand. Must be able to demonstrate electrical knowledge with a walk through of prints. Must have working knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical.
