Position: Lab Coordinator
Reports to: Lab Supervisor and Lab & Shipping Manager
Primary Objective:
Responsible to oversee the receipt, suitability, and routing of all lab samples
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following:
- Packing and shipping of outside test samples.
- Communicate with inter-department staff to troubleshoot issues.
- Receive and process incoming samples.
- Review, inspect, and document inbound loads.
- Prioritize product workflow on the production floor.
- Traceability and investigation regarding any sample movement.
- Prepare test report and communicate results.
- Use computer scanners and/or software to input test results.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Education and Eligibility:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months experience working in a mechanical testing lab preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with various work cells at the mechanical testing lab.
- Knowledge of various test paths in the lab.
- Knowledge of time constraints at various work cells in the lab
- Ability and familiarity with sample size, orientation, and geometry.
- Knowledge of material properties.
Physical Demands:
Ability to safely move around and work in an industrial plant environment for extended period of time including frequent bending, stooping, and occasional exposure to extreme heat
Ability to stand for extended period of time with dexterity related to handling/manipulating small metal samples and accessories to test them.
Occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
Ability to work irregular hours and extended hours as required and maintain job performance standards.
Maintain good personal hygiene and professional appearance.
