What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spares/Receiving Specialist position at Universal Stainless?
- Ability to use a computer and various types of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, SpendMap, Maximo, and Docuclass. Training will be provided.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects of 50 lbs.; climb ladders or stairs to stock bins
- Ability to receive, stock, tag inventory, and/or deliver goods.
- Ability to operate forklift, dolly, and pallet jack to load and unload supplies/equipment; operate company vehicle to deliver shipments; assist in routine maintenance of equipment and shipping area.
- Receive and unload incoming materials; compare information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customer.
- Ability to sort, count, package, label, insure, unpack, and/or log inventory which is shipped or received.
- Inspect shipments for damages or defects; record discrepancies or damage and notifies supervisor and/ or purchasing personnel
- Deliver items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
- Trace lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments; initiate proof of delivery documents.
- Prepare shipments for postal and commercial conveyance; selects appropriate shipping container; pack items to ensure safe delivery.
- Prepare bills of Lading; check items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
- Maintain department database and file shipping/receiving records.
- Analysis of SpendMap data for inventory entry into Maximo
- Maximo data entry, including documenting maintenance labor hours
- Conduct physical inventories / audits within all plant storeroom locations
- Identify and complete 5S storeroom projects within the plant
- Improve inventory item descriptions and conduct material searches within Maximo
- Must have basic understanding of print reading and conduct kitting / staging for upcoming maintenance work
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
