Overhead Crane Operator w/Magnets - Day Shift

Summary: Compiles and maintains material and parts inventory and status information to expedite movement of material and parts between production areas by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain current knowledge of inventory location.
• Operate crane safety in retrieving, replacing material and receives plate steel.
• Reads production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock, and order priority.
• Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas.
• Records and maintains perpetual inventory of quantity and type of materials and parts received, stocked, and distributed.
• Expedite transfer of materials from stock area to production areas.
• Examines material received, verifies part numbers, and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts.
• Compares work ticket specifications to material used at work stations to verify appropriate assignment.
• Verify mill information and record to receiver sheet, mark material with appropriate information.
• Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
