What are the responsibilities and job description for the Track Torch Burner-Night Shift position at Universal Steel America?
Summary: Operates track torch to cut steel plate to produce parts as required in accordance with company schedule.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Experienced in machine set up and operation while maintaining equipment in a safe and productive manner.
- Ability to read and understand drawings, basic computer skills to print and update orders.
- Part burning and beveling with maximum efficiency.
- Ability to interact with other shop personnel in an efficient manner as to minimize mistakes.
- Maintain traceability of all plate material and parts produced.
- Efficient scrap utilization.
- Operate a forklift and overhead crane with magnets and chains.
- Staging/moving heavy material to load/unload table.
- Use of measuring devices to verify dimensions of finished parts.
- Reviews job specifications & requirements to determine adjustments in order to meet customer requirements.
- Performs equipment maintenance as per schedule provided.
- Maintain communication with the Foreman.
- Participate and comply with all company quality system requirements to meet all quality and production goals set by the company or department.
- Maintains all applicable departmental documentation in a neat, orderly and organized manner.
- To maintain compliance to all housekeeping policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Other job duties may be assigned as required, to include part inspect, part conditioning, or any other work necessary.

Qualifications
- Ability to lift (50 lbs), carry, or maneuver objects.
- Must be able stand for long periods of times, sit, bend, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
