The Residential Sales Representative prospects for new business with an emphasis on homeowners, custom builders, remodels and Interior designers
Job Description:
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance product knowledge and improve selling skills.
- Prospecting for new business
- Keep the sales pipeline full by ensuring an active list of potential new leads is compiled and constantly updated through our CRM.
- Follow up on leads and opportunities
- Cultivate community relationships
- Collaborate with the sales team to achieve individual and team sales goals
- Stay updated with industry trends and product knowledge to offer informed recommendations to customers
- Investigate and resolve customer issues
- Attend networking and community events
- Utilize any and all marketing tools to promote company product
- Enter all job information into our scheduling software
- Collect the necessary information to send out a customer proposal
- Calculate the required square footage and collect the necessary pricing to send out a proposal
- Review and prepare sales contracts and assist in collection when needed
- Resolve any unconfirmed or missing information about the job (such as missing faucet specs, missing cooktop specs, etc.) as needed to complete the work order and template.
- Be in continuous communication through all stages
- Make outside sales calls as needed and follow up on leads and opportunities to grow and drive business
- Understanding the competition, our strengths, and market position and being able to relay the value proposition to customers
- Attend weekly sales meetings and daily huddles to review leads, prospects, and required steps to close jobs.
- Meet with prospective customers in the showroom or at the warehouse
- Provide excellent customer service while consistently meeting sales goals
- Effectively communicate product knowledge to customers
- Engage with customers to determine their needs according to taste, lifestyle, and investment range
- Check and respond to emails, texts, calls, and web leads
- Prepare sales contracts and assist in collection when needed
- Represent Universal Stone professionally while interacting with our customers, vendors and contractors through effective communication, timely arrival, and neat appearance.
Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in natural stone
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
- Must be results-oriented and able to work both independently and within a team environment
- Intermediate computer proficiency
- Valid driver's license
