US Advisors is seeking an entry-level Data Engineer to become an integral part of our Federal client service team! You will be supporting a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agency with their goal of continuously improving operations. The project requires a Data Engineer that can work independently as a part of a technical development team comprised of other data engineers, data scientists, and data analysts that are matrixed across two primary client workstreams.
Responsibilities :
- Provide data analytics support by developing ETL scripts in Python and SQL within a Databricks environment.
- Connect data to Qlik Sense for visualization and dashboarding with the goal of automating manual processes and reporting to make mission critical data readily available through self-service.
- Provide data governance support to ensure best practices when working with data tables, data fields, and generating summary statistics.
- Aid in the development of novel data governance techniques to ensure high data quality and consistency of the team’s products, such as the writing test / validation scripts, custom utility functions / templates, etc.
- Automate manual reports via Python scripts in Databricks following best practices, performing data validation on work products, reviewing Python code of peers, and providing demonstrations to client stakeholders.
- Provide architecture guidance and support to technical leads.
- Research new technologies and develop proofs of concept.
- Perform security assessments for potential risks.
