Warehouse Lead
POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Shift Lead is responsible for warehouse functions including, but not limited to shipping/receiving, product handling and storage, order picking, and packing. This position requires strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a warehouse environment.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects finished goods for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor.
- Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.
- Stocks production with materials as required based on production schedule
- Fill open orders from Production – Pick, pull, wrap, and prepare for customer pick-up or shipping
- Put all materials and components away in the proper storage location and consolidate materials.
- Checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct and prepares carton labeling and shipping documentation.
- Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received and completes associated paperwork.
- Clean and organize the warehouse by sweeping floors, removing broken skids and/or pieces of wood, ensure aisles and traffic ways are clear.
- Responsible for ensuring food safety procedures are properly maintained in the warehouse.
- Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.
- May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine.
- Shuttle raw materials from storage warehouse to production as required.
- Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety (OSHA), environmental, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Ensures shipping, receiving, storage and distribution are performed in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss.
- Confer with company managers/supervisors, regarding the coordination of all warehouse activities.
- Must be able to follow directions (verbal) and work with minimal supervision.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Requires a high school diploma/GED.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook
- Forklift certified.
- Punctual – must have own transportation / valid driver license required.
- Must be a highly motivated, self-starter able to work independently as well as in a team environment.

- Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and/or situations.
- Must be able to speak, read and write English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Physical Demands: Employee is required to be able to lift to 75 lbs. and work in both a seated and standing position. Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders and stand/walk on a continual basis.
- Work Environment: This position requires one to work both in an office environment and warehouse. There is a moderate level of noise.
