Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS) is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team! This position will be responsible for working in a team environment, geared toward the Research, Develop and Engineer technologies for software and weapon systems.
What will you be doing?
This position will be a key member of the Weapons and Software Engineering Center. Duties include:
- Provide experience with mechanical engineering support for the development of individual weapon components
- Support all aspects of design, prototype, testing and manufacturing
- Ability to work hands-on and collaborate with machine shop for prototyping
- Prepare designs using 3D CAD(Creo) modeling software
- Document designs using the Army’s design standards and GD&T
- Write test plans and work closely with testing groups
- Develop and present reports
- Work with manufacturing teams to develop functional prototypes
- Be able to support mature designs currently in production
- This position requires travel up to 25%
What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?
This position will require the following skillsets and experience:
- Must be able to obtain a clearance through the DoD security background investigation process
- Pass drug and alcohol testing
- Must have good mechanical skills and experience
- Self-starter and able to work autonomously
- Experience with engineering software, including Creo CAD
- Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- High standard of quality and efficiency
- Familiarity with firearms and ammunition and plus
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of weapons and firearms a plus
- Must be a team player, able to multitask and prioritize accordingly
- Fluent in (MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must have a valid NJ driver’s license and be able to obtain a government driver’s license
- Must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
- Past or present military personal are encouraged to apply
- 3-8 years of experience with mechanical engineering or similar discipline
