Information System Security Officer

In this position, you will act as an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for a complex information system supporting research and development activities at the DEVCOM Armaments Center, Picatinny Arsenal.

What will you be doing?

This position will be a key member of the Information Security team.  Duties include:

·         Provide support for implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.

·         Assist with the configuration management of information system security software, hardware, and firmware.

·         Maintain the operational security posture for an information system or program.

·         Provide support to the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) for maintaining the appropriate operational security posture for a system, program, or enclave.

·         Develop and maintain system security plans and other IA documentation for Assessment & Authorization (A&A) in accordance with DOD policies.

·         Document compliance actions within the approved automated compliance tracking system or develop a plan of actions and milestones (POA&M).

·         Auditing and Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) of the IS.

·         Perform Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) checks/validation.

·         Maintain effective stakeholder communications regarding all relevant information security incidents, tasks, and accomplishments.

·         Other information security related duties as assigned dictated by mission requirements.

What skills will the ideal candidate have to be successful?

This position will require the following skillsets and experience:

·         10 plus years of IT and Cyber Security experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least 4 years of relevant experience. Additional experience may be substituted for a degree.

·         A firm understanding of the Risk Management Framework processes.

·         IAT II certification and relevant Computing Environment (CE) training as defined in DoDM 8140.03

·         Experience with eMASS including obtaining/maintaining system ATOs.

·         Experience with the following tools: ACAS, Nessus, ePO, Tycon, Evaluate STIG, SCAP Scan, etc.

·         Experience completing security evaluations of software systems and architectures to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information.

·         Experience preparing and maintaining SSP or security related documentation.

·         Experience proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.

·         Demonstrated experience performing day-today security operations of complicated information and information processing systems.

·         Security CE or other applicable cyber security certification.

·         Verifiable Information Technology training.

·         Must be a U.S. Citizen

·         Active security clearance
