The z/OS Systems Programmer will be responsible for the day-to-day support, maintenance, and upgrade of the mainframe z/OS operating system and associated subsystems. The role requires hands-on expertise in core system utilities, mainframe CPU installation, storage configuration, and UNIX System Services. The position may include periodic off-hour and weekend support for production implementations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide ongoing support and administration of the mainframe z/OS operating system, storage systems, and systems software products
- Install, patch, and upgrade mainframe subsystems and supporting software, including UNIX System Services
- Support and execute mainframe and storage system upgrades
- Collaborate on periodic weekend implementations and provide off-hours support when needed
- Support a variety of mainframe products including transaction servers, scheduling software, security management, and report distribution tools
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 10 years of experience supporting z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD
- Experience with VTAM and TCP/IP in a mainframe environment
- Strong knowledge of basic IBM utilities (e.g., IDCAMS, IEFBR14) and experience with program product installations
- Hands-on experience with the IBM Virtual Tape System (VTS) and UNIX System Services
- Experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer
- Proven experience in large-scale, enterprise-wide mainframe environments
- Excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with CICS, IMS, DB2, and AFP printing
- Experience using OMEGAMON or similar monitoring tools
EDUCATION:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- OR 15 years of relevant experience in mainframe systems programming
