Job Summary:
This job posting is for a Service Writer for Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles. A desire to assist customers in person, via email, or over the phone, in accessing their needs, follow through with their requested services/repairs and finalizing repair orders or billing utilizing the following:
Service Writer Duties
From initial intake to the final payment, provide excellent customer service to all customers:
Greet customers as they arrive
- Physical interaction
- Answering phone calls as needed.
- Move vehicles around lot.
Relay customer complaints to technicians via communication chains(oral, written, electronic, ect)
- Work order creation.
- Verify complaint(s) with customer.
- Upload images to work order of vehicle, damages, complaints, ect.
Generate estimates from technicians diagnosis:
- Use of labor guides and repair knowledge.
- Upload estimates to proper platform(email, portal, ect).
Gain authorization for repairs from customers.
Schedule repairs to be completed.
Follow up with customers on repair progress.
Collect payment from customers.
Follow up with parts department on potential delays and relay information to customers.
Monitor repair order status on vehicles in shop to expedite repairs.
Monitor vehicles in lot to know workload and physical inventory.
Dispatch drivers to pick up and deliver vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication (phone/written/oral) and customer service skills
- At least 2 years of Service Writer Experience Preferred
- Knowledge of vehicle repair(medium to heavy -duty) preferred
- Great organizational and effective time management skills
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced high volume environment
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general reports, business correspondence, technical procedures and procedure manuals
Qualification Requirements
- Valid MN drivers license
- High school diploma or equivalent
