The Career Development Writer will demonstrate experience in producing, revising, and editing a wide range of medical student documents using practices that are accountable for placement of students from match application processes to successful post-graduation careers. The Career Development Writer will be part of ISAO as well as GACA teams, working as an integrated student advisor collaboratively with other student facing colleagues to provide student services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Composes a requisite number of Medical Student Performance Evaluations so that students may apply for residencies. Uses processes as a springboard for ongoing career advisement.
· Communicates with students on advisement needs, inquiries, and information regarding personal statements, CVs, student questionnaires, and Medical Student Performance Evaluation by delivering and participating in workshops and presentations on campus, remotely, and clinical sites and by conducting one-on-one advisement, phone advisement, email communication advisement, on campus advisement and remote interactions.
· Ability to compose and edit documents sensitively, professionally, and authoritatively to verify accuracy, consistency, grammar, and format.
· Possess a strong command of the English language.
· Competence to supply integrated communication strategies that reflect the Universities values and engages its diverse audiences.
· Convenes with Director of Graduate Affairs and Career Advising regarding student and administrative issues affecting student progress and/or outcomes.
· Work collaboratively as an individual with a strong ability to work effectively within a team environment.
· Proficient in multitasking to handle multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively and accurately to ensure timely completion of all deliverables.
· Participates in cooperative inter-department and University initiatives.
· Participates in occasional web or in-person professionally related conferences.
· Attends and participates positively in department meetings and discussions.
· Maintains professionalism through language, action, and dress code at all times.
· Works collaboratively with all student-facing services to advise and support students.
· Completes additional projects as assigned by the Director of Graduate Affairs and Career Advising.

· Bachelor’s degree required; degree in journalism or English or a related discipline; Master’s preferred;
· Strong writing, editing, and oral communication skills (fluidly writing and speaking in the English language);
· Familiarity with medical doctor’s regulation and approval process a plus;
· Knowledge of the medical education landscape a plus;
· Proficient in typing for writing and data entry;
· Competence to quickly adapt to several platforms for student access;
· Ability to work in a fast-paced team oriented environment;
· Background in advisement/teaching, public speaking, writing and working with students;
· Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments; disciplined independent worker;
· Excellent customer service skills.
