The Internal Control Officer (ICRO) plays a critical role in ensuring compliance with the New York State Law and SUNY policy. The ICRO is responsible for assessing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls across the university to promote accountability, transparency, and risk mitigation.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Internal Control Implementation :
Develop and maintain a comprehensive internal control framework aligned with the New York State and SUNY requirements.
Assess the design and effectiveness of internal controls within various university units.
Prepare reports on internal control findings, including deficiencies and corrective actions.
Assist in the development and revision of internal control policies and procedures.
Collaborate with the Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance team to identify and assess potential risks.
Work closely with the Enterprise Risk Management & Compliance team to integrate risk management practices into existing internal controls.
Collaborate with the IT department to safeguard sensitive data and protect against cybersecurity threats.

Professional Rank and Salary Grade : SL-4, $70,000-$75,000
