We are searching for a candidate to become the Financial Operations Manager in the School of Management. This role is responsible for oversight of key financial transactions such as payment requests, expense reports, fee development and maintenance, budget support, and policy compliance. In collaboration with the Unit Business Officer, this role is essential in developing and maintaining best practices for financial operations, driving process improvements, and ensuring the delivery of professional, timely, and accurate financial services to our School. The Manager of Financial Operations should have an interest in innovative solutions that enhance service quality and efficiency.
Successful candidates will be familiar with budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting principles. Additionally, strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and relationships with those supported is essential to our professional partnerships.
Broad areas of responsibility may include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee the financial operations within the School of Management, including overall procurement and reimbursement processes, card management, and PCI compliance, general accounting transactions, and budget support.
- Review purchasing requests, approve requisitions while working closely with stakeholders in departments and the University’s strategic procurement team.
- Work in coordination with the Unit Business Officer on the strategic budget and planning activities for the school.
- Maintain the content, design, and management of the internal resources page for financial operations.
- Initiate and collaborate on adopting innovative practices and leveraging technology solutions (like Generative AI) to meet growing business needs.
- Supervise and develop the Financial Operations Team (currently 3 professional staff), fostering a strong, motivated, and cross-trained team focused on delivering high-quality customer service. Lead and promote a responsive and collaborative customer service environment ensuring professional, timely, and accurate support for both internal and external constituents, including faculty, staff, researchers, and students.
- Partner with the Unit Business Officer to establish and maintain operational policies, procedures, and training opportunities for new and existing staff within the school.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of experience or master’s degree or professional certification with 1 year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) years accounting or financial management experience.
- Graduate degree
- Intermediate/expert Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams, and Visio
