Sponsored Projects Services (SPS) within the Vice President for Research and Economic Development (VPRED) division at the State University of New York at Buffalo is searching for a Post-Award Administrator. This position is responsible for the non-financial management of awarded sponsored projects, ensuring compliance with university and sponsor regulations throughout the lifecycle of the project. This role serves as a key liaison between the university’s research community and external sponsors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly examine notice of awards to ensure they align with university policies and sponsor requirements.
- Initiate and manage the setup of new sponsored accounts upon award confirmation, overseeing non-financial post-award activities, including project establishment, documentation, and compliance monitoring.
- Conduct training sessions for university decanal units on post-award non-financial processes and ensure compliance with both internal policies and sponsor requirements.
- Collaborate with university decanal units and stakeholders to ensure seamless project management, protocol adherence, and timely communication of project changes.
- Facilitate administrative actions for sponsor prior approval activity.
- Serve as the designated point of contact with sponsors for the submission of final reports and non-financial closeout documents as the authorized institutional representative.
- Resolve complex post-award issues by leveraging deep knowledge of sponsor-side requirements, acting as a problem solver and solution finder to ensure compliance and project continuity.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of experience in public or business administration or similar role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work in a diverse, deadline-driven environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of federal government agencies and budget processes
- Grant writing and/or administration experience
- Experience in planning, leading, documenting, and managing projects

$75,000 - $80,000
