General Job Summary
The Consumer Closing and Post-Closing Specialist is responsible for managing the closing and post-closing processes for consumer finance transactions. Primary responsibilities include preparing and reviewing closing documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, coordinating transaction funding, onboarding closed transactions, and managing lien placement. This role supports an efficient and accurate closing process while ensuring a smooth transition to post-closing and loan servicing functions.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Prepare and review closing documentation for consumer finance transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with borrowers, Account Executives, and third parties to facilitate smooth and timely closings.
- Request and verify necessary third-party documentation, including insurance, title work, and collateral information.
- Ensure all closing conditions are met prior to funding and transaction finalization.
- Process funding requests for approved transactions and ensure timely disbursement.
- Onboard closed consumer finance transactions into the bank’s system and follow up on lien placement and other post-closing documentation.
- Identify and address deficiencies in closing packages, working with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal policies, investor requirements, and regulatory standards.
- Assist with servicing and collection efforts for delinquent consumer finance transactions as needed.
- Manage collateral release functions and lien satisfactions as necessary.
- Provide support for process improvements and documentation of procedures.
- Act as a backup for specific processing tasks when needed.

Requirements
Education, Training and Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in consumer finance closing, post-closing, or loan servicing highly preferred.
- Previous banking, lending, or financial services experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of consumer finance closing and post-closing procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing documentation.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of confidentiality and dependability.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in loan origination and core banking systems.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to foster positive relationships.
Working Environment
Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds.
- Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk).
- Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard).
