General Job Summary
The Service Transfer Associate is responsible for working with manager to help coordinate all servicing transfers in and servicing transfers out, including interim serviced loans, to ensure all required steps are documented and that all timelines established for the transfer are met.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
- Establish timeline and project plan for each transfer in and transfer out
- Ensure all necessary GSE approvals have been obtained prior to establishing final transfer date.
- Coordinate transfer meetings with internal staff, clients, and any third parties involved.
- Ensure servicing transfer letters to customers are sent within RESPA required timeline.
- Coordinate and analyze data from trial and final transmissions to ensure reconciliation and balancing are accurate.
- Release individual interim service loans when required.
- Ensure UPB & Escrow balances to loan funding details prior to releasing interim service loans.
- Take necessary actions to contact borrower or new servicer for if we are missing any payments.
- Identify MERS requirements where applicable.
- Determine needs for transferring tax contracts and LOL flood determinations.
- Ensure mortgagee change notices and PMI/HUD notifications are completed timely.
- Ensure any tax or insurance payments due within 30 days of transfer have been paid provided we have received the bills.
- Obtain or provide all documentation required for any loans in default.
- Set Up Loans and Escrow on Manual Servicing Transfers
Other Job Functions
- Act as backup to New Loan & Escrow Set Up
- All other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
Education, Training and Work Experience
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required.
- Previous experience in mortgage loan servicing desired
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Maintain & foster positive relationships with customers, business partners and clients.
- Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
- Provide professional communication in both oral & written expressions.
- Excellent organizational, time management & analytical skills
- Ability to manage and maintain confidential information.
- Able to communicate effectively.

Working Environment
Primary working environment is within an indoor climate-controlled office space and/or a private home office or some combination which will be at managements sole discretion. Employee may be subject to florescent lighting, dust, and other normal indoor allergens. Employee may work in close proximity of coworkers and occasionally independently in quiet environments.
Physical Requirements
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds
- Extended periods of sitting (at computer desk)
- Complete repetitive tasks (including operation of computer mouse/keyboard)
