Responsibilities
University Behavioral Center, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), a 112-bed psychiatric hospital, has provided quality of care to children and adolescents in central Florida since 1989. The facility, located on a beautiful campus in Orlando, neighbors the University of Central Florida.
The Mental Health Tech provides direct care to patients with psychiatric disorders to ensure the safety and well being of the patients. This is a Full Time position (Night Shift-36 hours a week).
Essential Job Duties :
- Assists and monitors residents with daily living activities. Consistently demonstrates an alert, sensitive and supportive attitude with residents, families, employees, and management
- Interacts therapeutically with residents in one-to-one situations, community and group meetings
- Acts as residents advocate ensuring that the resident rights, as well as confidentiality, are maintained
- Has a basic understanding of Common Psychiatric Diagnoses. Can recognize behaviors associated with and uses proper intervention techniques for Common Psychiatric Diagnoses
- Evaluates and demonstrates knowledge and understanding of age-specific behaviors, motor skills and psychological norms
