What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Technician/Full-Time/Night-Shift position at University Behavioral Center?
University Behavioral Center is seeking Mental Health Technicians (MHT’s) to provide direct care in an atmosphere that provides for the personal care and comfort of our clients. This is a full time position (12 hour shift/) . Applicants are required to have previous psychiatric/behavioral direct care experience with residential or inpatient populations. University Behavioral Center has been a leading regional provider of intensive mental health services to severely troubled individuals for over 20 years.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WORKING AS A MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN IS REQUIRED. WE ARE CURRENTLY HIRING FOR NIGHT SHIFT
Essential Job Duties:
- Assists and monitors residents with daily living activities.
- Consistently demonstrates an alert, sensitive and supportive attitude with residents, families, employees, and management.
- Interacts therapeutically with residents in one-to-one situations, community and group meetings.
- Acts as residents advocate ensuring that the resident rights, as well as confidentiality, are maintained
- Has a basic understanding of Common Psychiatric Diagnoses.
- Can recognize behaviors associated with and uses proper intervention techniques for Common Psychiatric Diagnoses
- Evaluates and demonstrates knowledge and understanding of age-specific behaviors, motor skills and psychological norms.
This is a Full-Time position (Night Shift).

Job Requirements
Education:
- High School Diploma combined with experience in the field. Associates or Bachelors in related field a plus!!!
