Mental Health Technician/Full-Time/Night-Shift

University Behavioral Center is seeking Mental Health Technicians (MHT’s) to provide direct care in an atmosphere that provides for the personal care and comfort of our clients. This is a full time position (12 hour shift/) . Applicants are required to have previous psychiatric/behavioral direct care experience with residential or inpatient populations. University Behavioral Center has been a leading regional provider of intensive mental health services to severely troubled individuals for over 20 years.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WORKING AS A MENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN IS REQUIRED. WE ARE CURRENTLY HIRING FOR NIGHT SHIFT

Essential Job Duties:

• Assists and monitors residents with daily living activities.
• Consistently demonstrates an alert, sensitive and supportive attitude with residents, families, employees, and management.
• Interacts therapeutically with residents in one-to-one situations, community and group meetings.
• Acts as residents advocate ensuring that the resident rights, as well as confidentiality, are maintained
• Has a basic understanding of Common Psychiatric Diagnoses.
• Can recognize behaviors associated with and uses proper intervention techniques for Common Psychiatric Diagnoses
• Evaluates and demonstrates knowledge and understanding of age-specific behaviors, motor skills and psychological norms.

This is a Full-Time position (Night Shift).

Job Requirements

Education:

• High School Diploma combined with experience in the field. Associates or Bachelors in related field a plus!!!
