Position Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner will provide patient care under the direct supervision of a physician, including assessing and diagnosing in the Neurology ICU.

Core Competencies:
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and FDA
- Demonstrated ability to: 1. Treat and provide appropriate care for patients with acute stroke symptoms 2. Triage inpatients in outlying hospitals and report findings to attending physician
- Knowledge of coding and billing parameters that govern the provision of patient care by Nurse Practitioner within state of Tennessee and as applicable to individual carriers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Committed to supporting UCH’s standard of medical excellence
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Master's degree in nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner required (must include Certification and prescriptive authority)
- State of Tennessee licensure is required
- 3-5 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred
