Summer Camp Head Counselor
Summer Camp Head Counselor Responsibilities
- Works with the camp director in coordinating and organizing the total camp program.
- Leads all camp activities as per daily schedules, with room for flexibility and improvisation.
- Serves as a supervisor to camp counselors and provides support as needed by camp director.
- Assists camp director with planning of daily and weekly activities.
- Delegates daily responsibilities to other counselors.
- Oversees safety of campers and staff, and ensures that all counselors, campers, and parents/guardians adhere to safety protocols. The head counselor must also be accessible at all times to address any emergency situations or incidents.
- Nurtures a sense of community among campers, counselors, parents, and guests.
- Arranges materials, first aid, and supplies for each day of camp.
- Ensures total cleanup at the end of each day.
- Maintains attendance and incident logs and ensures proper reporting protocols.
- Leads activities such as arts and crafts, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with ideas .
- Communicating with parents, providing updates where required and answering questions about the camp.
- Providing guidance, motivation and support all campers.
- Work with group of campers and provide a fun, safe and exciting camp experience.
- Cooperate with fellow Counselors and Camp Director.
- Greet families and campers upon arrival.
- Participate in all camp activities.
- Maintains constant surveillance of the pool/body of water areas.
- 35 hours per week.

- Extremely responsible and reliable with a professional presentation
- Show both initiative and independence in carrying out job responsibilities, while acting as a cooperative team member
- Requires ability to bend, stoop, lift, balance and carry items up to 50lbs
- Ability to assist in moving furniture when necessary
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to move about freely on a multi-floor building
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
