Description
Responsible for contributing to the teams overall success by achieving negotiated personal sales, service and sales activity goals through the identification and satisfaction of member needs. Responsible for performing consumer lending services to UCUs members such as processing consumer loans that are primarily originated online, by phone, or through CUDL, funding consumer loans, assisting members with consumer loan related questions, and by recommending or cross selling other products. Answers member questions regarding Credit Union services provided and performs a variety of account maintenance. Assists or refers members with any and all questions or problems that arise. Attends to telephone inquiries and transactions for members. Generates new business through outside business development activities and participating in outbound calling programs. Serves as subject matter expert on loan origination and funding functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Assumes responsibility for the effective and professional performance of member service functions.
- Maintains working knowledge of regulatory compliance related to member services and financial services area to include (but not limited to): BSA reporting requirements, OFAC, USA Patriot ACT, Red Flags, Regulation CC, Regulation D, Regulation E, Truth in Savings, Truth in Lending, Privacy, SAFE Act, etc.
- Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers and reporting results to the inquiring party. Serves as escalation point for member concerns and/or problems. Refers any problem or concern to the appropriate individual if unable to resolve.
- Maintains working knowledge of all deposit accounts to include (but not limited to): shares, checking, money market, IRA, CD, SUTMA (Minor Account), Coogan Trust (Youth Actor Account), Trust Accounts (Living, Revocable, etc.), Representative Payee, DBAs, and organizational accounts. Performs file maintenance and
account changes as needed on deposit and lending products.
- Resolves member requests and questions promptly, courteously, and professionally. Conducts business development and outbound calling activities as assigned.
- Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies. Actively supports UCU core values, mission and vision statements, and demonstrates commitment to member service and UCU organizational success.
- Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation.
- Resolves member requests and questions promptly, courteously, and professionally. Conducts business development and outbound calling activities as assigned.
- Keeps members informed of Credit Union services and policies. Actively supports UCU core values, mission and vision statements, and demonstrates commitment to member service and UCU organizational success.
- Maintains and projects the Credit Union's professional reputation.
Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective coordination and working relationships with area personnel and management.
- Assists area personnel as required. Performs other lending duties as assigned.
- Keeps manager informed of area activities, significant problems, and the results of peer-level coaching concerning sales, service, compliance, and procedures.
- Completes required reports and records accurately and promptly.
- Attends meetings and training programs as required.

Qualifications
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- Member services functions are professionally, efficiently, effectively, and accurately performed in accordance with established policies, standards, and security procedures.
- Achievement of 100% of funding, assigned referral, ancillary product sales, quality and service goals.
- Queue is maintained up to date and follow up is being done in a timely manner (at least two times per week).
- Good business relations exist with members. Member problems or questions are courteously and promptly resolved. Effective assistance is provided with member loan questions or problems.
- Good working relationships and coordination exist with area personnel and management. Appropriate assistance is provided to area staff as needed. Managers are appropriately informed of area activities.
- Documents, files, records, and reports are current, correct, and submitted timely and to quality standards. All reporting functions are in compliance with government regulations. All UCU policies and procedures are followed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: High school graduate or equivalent. Associates degree or higher preferred. Registration with Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 90 days of active employment with University Credit Union.
Required Knowledge:
- Good understanding of member services and financial services products provided.
- Understanding of Consumer Lending funding documents and procedures.
Experience Required:
Three years of consumer loan funding experience in a financial institution. Experience in a strong sales and service environment with individual productivity goals preferred.

- Excellent communication and public relations skills.

- Well organized.
- Demonstrated consultative sales and service skills.
- Good math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to operate related computer applications and other business equipment including 10-key and telephone.
