What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Loan Originator position at University Credit Union?
University Credit Union, a growing credit union in Maine, is seeking a full-time Mortgage Loan Originator. This position would be responsible for originating secondary market mortgage loans, portfolio mortgage loans, and home equity loans and lines of credit. This would also include interviewing loan applicants and obtaining all necessary documentation for processing in a timely manner. Must be familiar with Fannie Mae, Rural Housing and Maine State Housing lending guidelines. Consistently demonstrates the ability to think independently, outside the box, by effectively responding to each individual member’s unique situation. Commands a thorough knowledge of the real estate lending process from application to closing to ensure maximum production. Is fully knowledgeable of all credit union products and services and is able to confidently offer appropriate solutions to fit member needs. Is able to clearly and effectively communicate with members and all levels of staff in oral and written form and is proficient with applicable technology.

Our mortgage department is always busy as we are experts in the mortgage industry and offer competitive rates. Simply put, we do mortgages well!
