This is an exciting new opportunity to join our awesome technology team in a role that will be responsible for creating, building, editing, maintaining and documenting programs for data processing and applications using JHA Symitar’s PowerOn code. Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Create, analyze, review, and edit programs for data processing and applications using JHA Symitar’s PowerOn programming language

Develop new PowerOn code and correct or modify existing programs for increased efficiency or regulatory compliance.

Document program development and modifications.

Assist team members in troubleshooting programming and system issues including third-party applications.

Keep team members informed of all enhancements and programming requests via the helpdesk.

Comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Skills:
Education/Certifications/Licenses/ Experience
-
You will have a relevant undergraduate degree or higher, or equivalent experience in a JHA Symitar PowerOn environment.

Proficiency in PowerOn programming language.
-
Proficiency with Symitar Episys core software, JHA Synapsys, and JHA Synergy.
Interpersonal Skills
Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with executives, leaders, frontline team members, vendors, and others to effectively diagnose issues, conduct effective analysis that gets to root cause, and keep team members informed of any changes or impacts.
Ability to stay focused, prioritize workloads, and remain organized and calm when handling conflicting demands on time.
Other Skills
Strong analytical skills, deep attention to detail, natural curiosity, and a solid ‘can do’ approach to resolving complex programming requirements, while maintaining a broader perspective of the downstream impacts of any new or edited programming

Physical Requirements
If based remotely, may be required to travel up to 20% of the time to the UCU HQ in Los Angeles, so must be able to travel and move within buildings to perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including a computer, telephone, copier, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on a computer for extended periods daily. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance that aligns with the pacific time zone.
Working Conditions
If working onsite, must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise. If working remotely from a home office, must be able to work in a separate, quiet area, for extended periods on a computer.
Mental and/or Emotional Requirements
Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace.
