Job Description
The Gift Shop clerk works under direction of the Corporate Gift Shop Manager, this position provides support and customer service in a retail operation. The responsibilities include effective interaction in a public setting, knowledge of merchandise and pricing in the Gift Shop, use of a cash register and receipt of payment in multiple forms, including charge cards . Will use basic mathematical skills and will work in a high traffic customer service environment. The schedule is part-time with a flexible work schedule which may include evenings and weekends.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in collecting and maintaining data in computer systems
- Experience with cash register operation
- Money counting skills
- Simple accounting skills
- Ability to follow directions and take instruction
- Customer service and public relation skills, including the ability to work with the general public in a professional and respectful manner
- Must be alert and aware of movement of customers within the shop
- Physical ability to lift up to forty (40) pounds
