What are the responsibilities and job description for the Protective Services Operator position at University Health - San Antonio?
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Under general supervision, they will assist with receiving emergency and non-emergency phone calls for service into the Protective Services dispatch center. Monitors life safety systems include fire systems, intrusion alarms and video surveillance systems. Use desktop computer-aided dispatch software (CAD) to enter information related to calls for service and provide information to Telecommunication Officers in order for emergency/non-emergency resources to be provided to the community, and to assist in clerical and other incidental activities. Performs support for telecommunication operations and related activities in accordance with departmental and University Health policies. Must be able to function under stressful conditions while ensuring prompt, efficient and courteous handling of all calls. Maintains a good, harmonious work environment. Have the ability to multitask.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED. One year of experience in public contact either in person or by telephone. Preferred one (1) year's experience as an emergency services dispatcher and/or 911 call taker or one (1) year of experience in a high call volume contact center. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, applicants must not have any of the following:
• Felony Convictions
• Felony Deferred Adjudication
• Class A & B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication
• Class B Misdemeanor Convictions
• Any Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor)
• Any Family Violence Convictions
