What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Assistant position at University Health - San Antonio?
POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Demonstrates an understanding of all procedures performed, a thorough understanding of all work processes and safety issues in specific assigned areas, and possesses excellent customer service initiatives. Recognizes a patient's physical limitations and provides appropriate support to assure the patient's safety. Helps to expedite patients' procedures by assisting the radiology technologist in any area of the radiology department. Promotes the University Health System’s Guest Relations Program.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent experience required. Enrollment in a Radiology Technologist program with at least one semester of clinical coursework completed OR completion of a recognized nursing attendant/aide program OR six months' experience as a nursing attendant, patient transporter, or other related healthcare experience may be a substitute OR graduation from an approved Radiology Technician program pending licensureure from the State of Texas. Experience in a radiology working environment is preferred, with knowledge of safety issues.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification is required.
